Instead of taking a Scouting training class today, I took some non-BSA training I wanted to take from the National Weather Service.
I should be able to report storms now and where they are heading. It was a really good class. I plan on returning next year and hopefully being able to report bad weather and spot weather that could turn bad. This will do nothing but help me when I am with my Scouts.
I have to say that the NWS's ability to incorporate "live media" into reporting issues with weather is a great example of accepting change for the good. You can Tweet your reports to them. Awesome.
The ramblings of an ex BSA Varsity Team Coach on Scouting and specifically the Varsity program. My thoughts, ideas and concerns are in no way connected or shared in any form or fashion by the Boy Scouts of America or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) who volutold me to serve as a Varsity Coach. Some personal rambling too........... (I am an Assistant Scoutmaster now that the Varsity Program has been murdered........)
