When a participant to Wood Badge tells the staff and Scouters they "Are the finest people I have ever met" it means a lot. Buddy has gone home. My most fondest memory of him was at participant orientation for Wood Badge when he was having a hard time getting out of his car. When I left the building to go help him, he told me that he could do it himself. Determined. He was very determined.
Why would a 79 year old go to Wood Badge? He answered that question many times for us. "I still have more to learn." Wow.......
The ramblings of an ex BSA Varsity Team Coach on Scouting and specifically the Varsity program. My thoughts, ideas and concerns are in no way connected or shared in any form or fashion by the Boy Scouts of America or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) who volutold me to serve as a Varsity Coach. Some personal rambling too........... (I am an Assistant Scoutmaster now that the Varsity Program has been murdered........)
