This weekend I taught Varsity Coach Leader Specific Training to 4 Coaches who needed the training. One of the comments I made to the Coaches was that no matter how much time their Scout job takes, take time to spend one on one time with each kid and to actually date your wife. This is even at the expense of the job you are doing as a Scout leader. Family always comes first. But make sure you do your Scouting job too! Don't always use your family as an excuse to get out of doing your job!
Today I am missing Commissioners meeting because my daughter has a choir concert. Not a hard decision to make.
The ramblings of an ex BSA Varsity Team Coach on Scouting and specifically the Varsity program. My thoughts, ideas and concerns are in no way connected or shared in any form or fashion by the Boy Scouts of America or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) who volutold me to serve as a Varsity Coach. Some personal rambling too........... (I am an Assistant Scoutmaster now that the Varsity Program has been murdered........)
