I have seen many blogs around the Scout-o-web but none Varsity Specific. This could be for a few reasons. I have found that the Varsity Team is probably one of the most under used programs the Scouting program has. This is probably because the Scouting program in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints specifically uses the program. Most people that should be using the program are more interested in focusing on the advancement of the Scouting program than the many other focuses of the Scouting program. Varsity was written for the LDS Church for a group of boys that are 14-15 years old to keep them interested in Scouts if they have earned their Eagle or keep them interested because they haven't earned their Eagle. Many say the program has problems. I say, every program, Scouting or not has problems. This blog will center around successes and ideas I have to help those involved in the Varsity Team programs.
My thoughts of course are merely mine and don't represent in any way the Boy Scouts of America and/or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The ramblings of an ex BSA Varsity Team Coach on Scouting and specifically the Varsity program. My thoughts, ideas and concerns are in no way connected or shared in any form or fashion by the Boy Scouts of America or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) who volutold me to serve as a Varsity Coach. Some personal rambling too........... (I am an Assistant Scoutmaster now that the Varsity Program has been murdered........)
